Juicy PC Gaming Announcements from The Game Awards

I didn’t watch The Game Awards, but I might have to start next year.  Turns out there were some juicy reveals during the awards this year.  Here are the two that got my juices flowing:

The Outer Worlds

Obsidian is known for their RPGs, and this is no different.  With all the negativity surrounding Bethesda’s recent Fallout 76 release, this game is going to hype a lot of people.  The Outer Worlds looks to me like Fallout meets Borderlands meets No Man’s Sky meets Bioshock?  Something like that.  Or more simply, Spacey Sci-fi Fallout.  I am all in on this one.  The trailer got me all worked up.  You can check it out on Youtube.

The Next Dragon Age

Okay, this isn’t the name.  The reveal simply showed that there is another Dragon Age on the way.  There wasn’t much info at all, but all I need to know is that another game from probably my favorite franchise is on the horizon.  You can check it out on Youtube, but I’ll warn you that there isn’t much going on in this one.

There were other reveals at The Game Awards, but these are the only two that interest me.  And for me, these are plenty exciting.  I backed out of playing Fallout 76, but I am all in on The Outer Worlds and the next Dragon Age.  Hopefully we’ll see them in 2019!

Podcasts too?! Episode 1 is here.

We took a stab at our first podcast.  No idea what the hell we are doing, but we talk current gaming subjects that are on our minds.  Frank is a PC gamer primarily but will include other topics from consoles and gaming in general.  I am the PC gaming elitist (I refuse to address console gamers) of the podcast.  We are planning to get one more from our group to join us regularly, and then include periodic guests as well.  Also, once we get a decent format going we’ll figure out how to get on iTunes.  Here it is, our first shoddy attempt at a podcast (at one point Frank even gave me the cue to plug this blog, and I gave the wrong web address. I suck.):

Past Prime Gaming – First Merch item!

Just a quick update today.  I am dabbling in some merch for the site ( I know, I should be adding more actual PC Gaming content).  The first, and only item so far is a PPG logo PopSocket.  My wife has one and it looks super handy, but I’ve never liked any particular design… so I made my own!  I’ll update this post later on when shirts are available.

For now, check out our PPG PC Gaming PopSocket on Amazon!

Edit: Here are our Official PPG PC Gaming Shirts on Amazon!

First Post – About me!

This is my first attempt at learning something new in quite a while.  Everything I do on here will be an evolving process and will hopefully eventually end up being a fun creative outlet.  With that being said let’s get started with the first ever post.

A little bit about me.  I work full-time, married and have a fun little one approaching two years old.  My career is not in IT, but I have always been fairly tech-savvy.  I’ve always been a PC gamer and have built my own systems since as far back as I can remember.  It all started in high school with games like Quake and Everquest.  Everyone, including myself, thought that is was a phase.  Here I am now with a giant Steam library of 300+ games, nearly daily meeting friends online to play.

PC-Gaming-Steam

I noticed that there is a huge generation of gamers going through the same thing I am.  We all work now.  Many of us have wives, kids and other responsibilities.  We still have some skills, but we don’t have 16 hours a day to invest and practice anymore.  I want to cater information to those people.  People that love PC games but can only squeeze in an hour while the baby is napping, or an hour before bed because you have an 8am conference call.  So my idea is to create a place to get quick bits of information about news, game reviews, hardware, and other topics.  Enough information so that you are familiar with current trends, but still have enough time to get some gaming in before that baby wakes up!
