PC Gaming – Update!
I’ve been slacking on updates. Mostly because I am still playing Project: Gorgon and not much else. There are a couple exciting upcoming games to keep your eyes on:
Anthem – This is a Destiny-esque Action RPG multiplayer shooter with exo suits, jet packs, and fancy future weapons from Bioware. You’ll find it on Origin. There is a VIP Demo on January 25nd with a release date of February 22nd. Check out the trailer: https://youtu.be/yJo19lIZWJY
The Division 2 – Also an Action RPG multiplayer shooter, but this one is third person and has modern day type weapons. This game is developed by Massive Entertainment and can be found on Uplay. Beta opens in early February with a release date of March 15. Check out the trailer: https://youtu.be/ktNvh63KkQQ
Other News – In case you haven’t heard, Atlas was a bust, and it looks like the Artifact player base is severely dwindling as well.
I’ve installed three games lately that I intend to dabble in once my Project: Gorgon addiction dies down: Subnautica (was free on Epic), They Are Billions (currently included in Origin Premium), and Borderlands The Pre-Sequel (dirt cheap during the winter Steam sale). Looking forward to trying them out and getting some reviews up!
Happy Atlas Day!
Today Atlas launches into early access on Steam. I love days like today. Reddit has so much hype for a game that no one really knows about, or has seen any real gameplay footage. All we know is that it is a Pirate themed MMO from the makers of Ark: Survival Evolved. There are talks of servers handling 40,000 players, as well as privately hosted servers. I never tried Ark primarily because it launched a DLC while still in early access. That just feels wrong. But Ark is still within the top 15 games played on Steam right now so they must be doing something right. I may give it a try if it has favorable initial reviews, but my mouse will be hovering over the refund button the entire time.
Here is the countdown timer in case you are interested: https://www.playatlas.com/

Edit: Delayed until December 21st 😦
PC Gaming – Steam sale this week! December 20th!
Just a friendly PSA; the winter Steam sale starts on Thursday! Get your wallets ready. If you are ever wondering when the next steam sale is, here is a handy website for you: https://www.whenisthenextsteamsale.com/
Here are a couple of games on my radar:
Kenshi – An open ended, squad-based RPG
Hand of Fate 2 – A deck building hack n’ slash
Atlas – Pirate survival MMO (Releases on Thursday so probably no Steam discount, but I am curious to check out the initial reviews!)
PC Gamers! Artifact, launches tomorrow!
Just a friendly reminder that a highly anticipated PC game arrives tomorrow! Valve’s new trading card game is available mid-day on November 28th (and for pre-load now on Steam!). From the Steam countdown it looks like it will be playable at 1pm PST. I am looking forward to getting in on this early since I have a feeling it will be around for a good long time. I will post a review once I get a grasp of how everything works. GLHF!
My Top 5 Most Anticipated PC Games
There are always new games on the horizon in PC gaming. Here is a list of the top 5 that I am looking forward to.
1. Fallout 76 – Bethesda

Fallout 76 is an Action RPG with a release date of November 14, 2018. Information is slowly starting to become available as we get closer to the release date. For me, any Fallout game is an auto-buy. I love the world and how open ended they tend to be. The biggest feature to note is that this will be a multiplayer game, a first for the Fallout series.
2. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord – TaleWorlds Entertainment

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is another Action RPG I am looking forward to. Unfortunately, despite the game being announced all the way back in 2012 we still don’t have a firm release date. The Mount & Blade series is a very unique open-world concept where you build up your own army from scratch while participating in battles yourself. I love the series and only hope this is a more polished version of the same, with better graphics of course!
3. Cyberpunk 2077 – CD Projekt Red

Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming Action RPG (you are probably seeing a trend now of my favorite genre). It had a massive reception at E3 this year and is becoming one of the most anticipated games for many. Although there is no release date, most people expect a 2019 release. A lot of the hype for this game is simply due to the pedigree of CD Projekt Red’s work on The Witcher series. I am a sucker for open world RPGs, the cyberpunk theme, and the attention to quality that comes with CD Projekt Red.
4. Artifact – Valve Corporation

Artifact is a strategic trading card game set to be available on November 28, 2018. Valve hasn’t released a game since Dota 2 back in 2013, so it’s kind of a big deal. The game is based on the Dota world, and even involves a three lane system. I am normally not into this genre because I hate trying to keep up with the meta, but I love to getting into games early when I know they will be around for a long time. This will be a must-try.
5. New World – Amazon Game Studios

Amazon’s New World has been popping up in the news recently. There is not much information confirmed about the game at this point. Alpha invites have been sent out so it is still pretty early in development with no set release date. It is said to be an MMO sandbox type game. From what I’ve read it looks to be a AAA version of Rust, with more PVE elements. I love Rust, I love the benefits of AAA development, and I love some good PVE. Maybe it is the intrigue of the unknown, but I would love for a huge studio to release a Rust-like PVE-oriented game.
